Message from Azelle, Owner of The Maya Salon

There was a point in my life when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to build and what kind of impact I wanted to make.

Growing up, my family always found ways to give back — from volunteering at an orphanage in Mexico, to donating gifts for kids every year, to helping teach trade skills to women in Cambodia who had survived sex trafficking. Being around that showed me early on how much love, care, and support can matter.

When I decided to open my own business, I kept coming back to one question: What can I do right here, in my own community?

For me, the answer became simple. If I can help someone feel better, more confident, and more like themselves, maybe they carry a little more of that into the rest of their life too.

That’s what I wanted The Maya to be.

A place where you feel welcomed, listened to, and cared for. A place where beauty is personal, and where you can leave feeling a little more confident than when you walked in.

At The Maya, we want you to feel seen, heard, and genuinely happy with your experience — whether you’re here for your hair, nails, skin, or simply to be part of the space.
